Being on Erasmus is wonderful, something I would recommend to absolutely everyone. But on this basis we must also recognize that we live a bit in another world, isolated from what is really going on. I don't even have a television, nor do I remember the last time I held a newspaper in my hands. And yes, thanks to the internet this feeling of isolation is less, but even if you always take a look at newspaper websites, read headlines or some interesting news, in the end you spend more time watching pseudo-news or funny links that come to you through meneame or similar pages.
Over here things must be very busy, the president of the republic, Václav Klaus, who is now in the presidency of the European Union, every time he opens his mouth the bread rises - Eurosceptic and climate change denier - and as if that were not enough, the prime minister Mirek Topolanek lost yesterday a motion of censure and has to resign. And we complain about Spanish politics?
And the crisis? All we hear is that finding a job in Spain is very hard, that things are not so bad here and that we are still growing but less... I don't understand anything about economic matters, and now the only thing I see is that having two accounts, one in euros in Spain, and another in Czech crowns here, the exchange rate is more fluctuating than the weather and there are days when I have a lot of money -when the exchange rate is at 29- and days when I lose money everywhere -when the exchange rate is at 26-. In the end I'm going to use yahoo's currency converter as my home page, just in time.
Honestly, I do not know if it is better to live isolated from reality in our parallel reality or being aware of everything that is moving in the world at this time to be prepared for when it ends.Recommendations?
